As long as you’re washing diapers, why not wash cloth wipes at the same time? Cloth wipes are not only economical and good for the environment, they’re far more effective than those thin throw-away wipes.

The thick, nubby texture of the sherpa knit terry we use to make them grabs messies and cleans much better than disposable wipes.

Our cloth wipes are made with two layers of soft, sherpa knit terry. They measure about 5 inches by 5 inches square.

You can keep your cloth wipes in a traditional disposable wipes box filled with a bit of water and a couple of drops of tea tree oil or another of your favorite essential oils. Some like to squeeze in a few drops of baby shampoo as well. Many like to use a wipes warmer with their cloth wipes, so they’re toasty warm for use.

Alternatively, you can also just keep a little squirt bottle by your changing table and wet the wipes as you go. This method works well for the diaper bag as well.

When you’re finished using the wipes if they aren’t too goopy, just toss them in the diaper pail. If they need a little rinsing prior to washing, rinse them just as you do your cloth diapers.
